Description
Objectives
The main objective of the Accessible Schools (COOL) is to promote inclusive and accessible education practices that prepare all students, including those with disabilities and/or a migrant background, for success in school and in life.
The project aims to provide tailored language support services, promote the development of key competences, and encourage active civic participation and engagement among students and teachers/educators.
Target Groups
Direct:
1.Teachers and other school staff: Teachers and other school staff are responsible for creating inclusive learning environments and providing support to all students, including those who have some type of disability and/or come from an immigration background.
2. School administrators and policy makers: School administrators and policy makers play a critical role in determining policies and practices that affect the accessibility of schools.
Indirect:
3. Students with disabilities: As mentioned previously, students with disabilities should be the main target group of any initiative to promote accessible schools.
4. Students from an immigration background: Students from an immigration background may face additional barriers in accessing education due to linguistic and cultural differences, as well as other factors such as discrimination and social exclusion.
5. Parents and guardians of students with disabilities and/or a migrant background: Parents and guardians play a crucial role in supporting students with disabilities and/or a migrant background. It is important to involve them in any initiatives to promote accessible schools and provide them with information about available support services and resources.
6. Community Organizations and Advocates: Community organizations and advocates can play an important role in promoting accessible schools, advocating for policy changes, providing support and resources to students with disabilities and/or migrant backgrounds, and raising awareness of the importance of accessibility and inclusion in education.
