ASSET- Accessible School System for Education and Teaching

In this work package, we aim to develop a comprehensive teacher’s guide on transforming schools into an accessible environment for all students, including those with disabilities and/or a migrant background.
The specific objectives of the ASSET work package are as follows:
-To create a theoretical framework for accessible and inclusive education practices based on the principles of Universal
Design for Learning.
-To provide practical guidance and tools for teachers to create accessible teaching materials and adapt their teaching
methods to meet the diverse needs of all students.
-To promote the use of digital technology as a tool to support learning and accessibility for all students.
-To increase the awareness and understanding of teachers regarding the needs of students with disabilities and/or a
migrant background.
-To pilot test the teacher’s guide in partner schools and gather feedback for further improvement.
The ASSET work package aims to empower teachers with the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to create an inclusive and accessible learning environment for all students.
By increasing awareness and understanding among teachers regarding the needs of students with disabilities and/or migrant backgrounds, the ASSET work is promoting equal opportunities in education.
The guide that we build is based on UNICEF’s 2016 Making Schools Accessible to Children with Disabilities aiming to strengthen the existing material by focusing specifically on ensuring an inclusive school environment.
